WHISTLESTOP PARK
Whistestop Park is the newest and largest recreation facility located in the central area of the Township. The
59-acre park has two vehicle entrances, one on Byron Center Avenue and the primary entrance on 76th Street. There are paved paths connecting the park to two separate condo developments to the south and west and an additional side path along the 76th Street entrance leads to a bike route connecting to regional trails.
Whistlestop Park is the primary location for adult and youth league and recreational programming. There are four youth baseball/softball fields, four adult softball fields, two football fields, three various sized soccer fields, two lacrosse fields, an archery area and a dog park. There are two restroom concessions buildings, one at each
ballfield quad and a third restroom building in the center of the park near a large playground area and large
open air picnic pavilion. There is a designated spot for the community garden, a natural trail through a small
wooded area, as well as a 2.5-acre pond with two fishing decks. A paved walking path circles the pond and
connects to the other paths throughout the park.

The Byron Township Community Center is located within Whistlestop Park. The Historical Society also has a
refurbished train depot building in the north end of the Park that is used for various community events.

BICENTENNIAL PARK
Bicentennial Park is a 39-acre community park located adjacent to the Byron Township Hall and the Library complex. The north section of the park has a large parking area, two baseball/softball fields, concessions/restroom building and a skate park. The south section of the park holds two open air pavilions with picnic tables, a restroom building, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, twelve pickleball courts (installed April 2022), three shuffleboard courts, a playground, a walking path with life fitness stations, and a paved parking lot. The park also includes a large undeveloped wetland and wooded area which accounts for approximately 50% of the park area.

CUTLER PARK
Cutler Park is the oldest of the Township parks, located in a heavily populated residential area just east of US
131. Park facilities include one baseball/softball field, one full-size soccer field, a small play structure and
picnic shelter on the southwest side, a large playground on the north side, restroom building, 5 tennis courts, 2
basketball courts and a walking track around the park perimeter. There is a paved parking lot onsite as well as
a Consumer’s Energy corridor that is available for overflow parking.
